HORSEBACK RIDING

Truly a trip worth remembering! A journey into yesterday on horseback

Come ride the Steamboat horses at Del's Triangle 3 Ranch. You will follow scenic Elk and Deer trails in a wilderness-type environment. Summer or Winter, once you leave the corral, you won't see a sign of civilization until you get back. We have registered Quarter horses, registered Arabians, and even a few old nags.

The guides and wranglers are all experienced horse riders. Some have guided for most of their lives. We attend clinics given by horse trainers such as: John Lyons, Ray Hunt, Pat Parelli, Clinton Anderson, Bill Smith, and Marty Marten and others.

Riding the Steamboat Horses

You can ride with us both summer and winter (and we will even pick you up in Steamboat Springs in the winter). Each season provides a unique experience in the Colorado back country.

Summer Rides

From June flowers to the golden glow of Fall, relax as we lead you through a natural Elk and Deer habitat for 1 or 2 hours.

Want more than a 2 hour ride? How about a 1/2 day? If your legs are up to the task, we'll see more scenery, more wildlife, and cover a lot more terrain. Once we find a scenic spot, we'll stop for a sack lunch. The 1/2 day ride is a bit more challenging--we encourage first time riders to "warm up" on an hourly ride.

Would you like to ride in the backcountry, but not camp out? A Full Day ride provides access to everything the Routt National Forest has to offer. We can fish for trout, photograph the flowers and scenery, or ride to the Continental Divide for lunch. Please call well in advance to plan a full day ride itinerary.

  • 1 Hour: $45/person
  • 2 Hour: $65/person
  • 1/2 Day: $125/person (w/ lunch)
  • Full Day: $250/person (w/ lunch)

Winter Rides

For a truly unique experience, take a break from skiing and go for a ride in the snow! Let our surefooted horses guide you through the snow-covered aspen trees in the silence of Winter's simple beauty. We recommend you wear ski clothing for the winter rides.
